Task 4: Finding the lost island of Atlantis and obtaining Zeus’ lightning bolt
NOTE: please remember that we don’t have to RP every single detail. If you look at the task planning, just kinda ‘follow’ what’s said there. Although of course you can change it up a bit. It is possible to skip bits here and there. Otherwise it will be a drag and take forever to finish the task :/ Oh and please reblog this as text so that we don’t lose anything. Once we have made one circle (every time), I will shorten it so that it doesn’t become SUPER long :P
Despite that Nate didn’t exactly know everyone in the boat, he felt responsible for every single one because he was the task leader. As the boat suddenly sped up he noticed that DJ had made that happen. Grinning at the other boy, he thanked him silently. Endless paddling would’ve driven him mad sooner or later. Suddenly, Nate was pulled out of his thoughts by someone shouting. Quickly he realized it was Solomon, Summer’s little brother. While making his way over to the younger boy he saw something move out of the corner of his eye. They were still moving but Nate shouted over to DJ to stop the boat. Everything went quiet as the boat stopped. Suddenly, something submerged to the surface and went back down again. “Everyone!” Nate shouted and turned to face the group. “Stay in your position, but be prepared! There is something down there and we need to destroy it. We just can’t move around the boat much. Unless you want to fall in that is,” He informed them and hoped that everyone was prepared for what was about to happen.
ooc; uhmm can we kill the monster in this round so that Solomon can locate Atlantis by the time his turn comes around? I just want things to move along :DD Also here is task planning so feel free to use it as your reference point :D
As soon as she heard Nate speak, Amarina stood up alarmed. She familiarized herself with her surroundings and made sure that she was standing near Cyd in case she got in trouble. Her eyes searched the dark cold waters for the monster, while she prayed that nothing bad would happen. If there was something Amarina didn’t want to happen, it was someone getting eaten by a monster. She has previously, while surfing, witnessed a shark attack and this occasion reminded her of it. Concentrating hard on her ability, Amarina jumped off the boat and instantly turned herself into water particles themselves. Her body vanished as it blended with the sea. Swimming around Amarina located the water creature. Her eyes widened as she saw it’s webbed feet and hairy nostrils. Amarina didn’t wait long, she didn’t want to be noticed so she quickly returned, trying to not swing the boat too much as she climbed back on board. ”It’s under water, over there,” she said pointing a little to her left,” and it’s hideous.” Amarina couldn’t do much, the monster was a sea creature and all Amarina could do is manipulate water. Big waves weren’t going to cut it this time so she waited for someone else to strike.
ooc; Damn I hope I used her power correctly]Cyd was a little more relaxed now, DJ having thankfully taken over the sailing with an ease that should have been obvious from the start. Incorporating powers into planning was obviously something that was going to take practice. But at Solomon’s shout, she scrambled to her feet, body taut like a wire as she scanned the empty sea. A ripple in the water caught her gaze and – there! A centipede, or what looked like one. It was nothing Cyd had ever seen before, and her eyes widened as Nate yelled orders from behind her. They had stopped moving now. The boat rocked gently back and forth on the waves. Everything was silent. It was almost as if they were waiting for something. Then a splash. A blonde head disappeared into the water, and it took Cyd a second to realise it was Amarina. Her heart in her mouth, she rushed to the side of the boat, but almost as quickly as the girl had gone, she was clambering back over the side, pointing to where the monster was.
Cyd’s mind raced – she could see the thing now, getting closer by the second. It was huge; twice the size of the boat at least. If it got anywhere near them, they were in trouble. Gathering her thoughts together, she attempted composure. Her powers hadn’t been responsive before, but another try wouldn’t hurt. It started with a little glow in the pit of her stomach, tight and quiet. Then it spread, rippling down to her fingertips and toes, constantly intensifying until it became almost unbearable; a ball of searing heat behind her closed eyes. Better cross my fingers, she thought for a fleeting moment, before she could stand it no longer. Her eyes snapped open. The change was impossible to ignore. Cyd didn’t dare look up to the sun above, but she could feel the scorching glare on her skin, and as she turned a burning gaze to the monster, she saw the change there too. The water began to bubble, slowly at first, then vigorously, like a giant melting pot.
“Quickly,” she called, grimacing as the heat became stronger. “I don’t know how long I can keep it up.” Her vision was already beginning to blur, white flaring at the edges of her sight. If this was going to happen every time she used her power, she was going to have to be careful.
DJ didn’t really like this. There was something most people didn’t know about him. Something he always kept to himself so no one would even have a chance to get on his case about it. He, along with his twin brother TJ, hated being out in the ocean or seas or any huge body of water. He didn’t like not knowing where the ground was, or how far down it was. In the sky was different because he had control of how far he went if he were to fall. But in the water, he was a sitting duck, waiting for gravity to bring him down. He wanted to throw up, but he contained himself as much as he could.
Suddenly, he felt the boat shake a bit, jumping up and looking around. “What the fuck was that?!”, he said as he watched Amarina turn into a living mass of water. Okay, she just got ten cool points. That was pretty epic for a power. Grinning, it quickly got knocked off of his face as she spotted the huge monster. This was some real shit and they could quickly be in danger.
His older brotherly protective side came out as he got himself ready. He noticed the air getting a bit hotter, more hot than it should. Looking over at Cyd, he realized what she was doing, seeing the water begin to bubble. He could watch the blob under the water begin to squirm. That’s when he got an idea. “Guys, stay down and hold on to each other. Do NOT let go of yourselves and the boat.” With that, his body began to rise into the air, the wind swirling under his feet. Time to fuck this thing up.
His eyes turned a whitish clear color as the wind picked up, starting to blow around like crazy. He made sure not to aim for the boat, but of course the wind sometimes had a mind all on it’s own. The boat began to spin around a bit and he hoped they could hold on for dear life. He aimed his winds for the water and the beast under, watching as it swirled rapidly, pulling the beast out and into the air. His eyes widened when he finally laid his eyes on it. That thing was uglier than his great granny Ross on crack after losing a food fight in a Walmart in the ghetto. He narrowed his eyes, watching the wind as it circled the creature. With the boiling water surrounding it as well, he laughed as the creature began to cook from the outside in. He never knew he could do something as powerful as a hurricane but it was definitely taking a toll on him. The last thing he remembered was hearing the creature cry out as it was baked alive before his body finally gave way and fell down to the boat, missing it by an inch as he went into the water.
Will was confused, to say the least. Although, that really wasn’t anything new, considering Will was confused almost 24/7. So of course, he had no idea in heck what was going on as they sped off on their little boat. That was until he felt the boat jump and everything fell apart. He saw the blonde girl-Amarina?- literally turn herself into water and give them an update on the monster or whatever it was that was attacking them. He quickly moved himself away from it and debated what he should do. He looked around and saw Cyd and DJ start to use their powers but he didn’t really know how or if he should help them. He couldn’t really see how he could do any good without getting himself or someone else killed at the moment.
Instead he watched as Cyd cooked the monster from the inside out and stared in amazement as DJ made a hurricane that enveloped the monster. He watched as the monster slowly fell into the water, and then gasped in horror as he saw DJ go limp and begin to fall also. As DJ’s body fell through the air and into the water, Will suddenly knew what he had to do. He felt the familiar tingling sensation as he willed
(ooc: Will willed time. Haha)time to slow down and then completely stop right as DJ splashed into the sea. Will immediately dived in and grabbed DJ, grateful that the waves had stopped moving with the stopping of time. He quickly climbed back onto the boat and dragged DJ up with him. He looked at the older boy as he willed time back into motion, waiting for him to wake back up.
Solomon gulped upon hearing Nate’s instructions. There was a mixture of emotions inside the sixteen-year-old boy’s body. He was excited, nervous, and scared at the same time. Solomon chose not to let the last two emotions show, however, but instead he took a deep breath and tried to think of some way he could help in killing the monster. He followed Nate’s instructions and sat down, securing his position, only standing up a few seconds after the monster went back down the water. He had the chance to practice his powers the past few days. He even managed to make his leg heel. He was somehow confident he could contribute something. He watched as the other people in the boat did what they can.
The boy could just gasp in amazement as one girl turned into water. He was sure her name started with an A, but couldn’t remember as to what her name really was. Next thing he knew, another girl he was sure was named Cyd was making the water boil where the monster was. When the girl spoke, he snapped out of his thoughts and the first thing that popped in his mind was rope. After a second or two, a long and thick rope appeared in the boat. He quickly picked it up just as the angry looking guy named DJ soared and made a hurricane. “Wow.” Solo spoke as he watched the boiling water engulf the monster. Before it hit the water, Solo threw the rope and tied it using his mind. He remembered Mrs. T telling him that the only limitation to his power was his imagination. As long as he can imagine it, he can make it happen.
“Is he going to be alright?” He asked, looking at DJ and Will, before turning to look at Nate. “Shall we get going then?” He asked, taking a deep breath as he made a new paddle appear in his hands. “Now to find Atlantis.” He said, sitting back as he paddled with the others. Solomon wasn’t used to travelling without music or sound. The quiet sound of the waves hitting their boat would’ve been alright if they didn’t encounter a monster earlier. The sudden urge for comfort led the boy to start whistling some tunes he could remember his sister, Summer, singing from their music room back in Hamptons. As he continued whistling, an idea popped in his head. He paused paddling and whistling altogether for a moment, a smirk spread across his face as he whistled again, but this time towards the ocean. After a few moments of having sound waves direct him, he called out to the group. “Hey guys, Atlantis is—,” pausing for a while, whistling once more just to make sure he got the location correct, “that way. It’s right there. I’m sure of it.” He said, pointing towards his right, where the water’s color was a darker shade of blue.
